For the last 12 months, we’ve celebrated so many wonderful experiences with you, from jackpots to premier entertainment. It’s truly been a year for big wins, big entertainment and big-time fun at WinStar World Casino and Resort. We thought we would take a look back at all the great things that happened here in 2018.
New Partnerships
We were so pleased to announce two new partnerships that are truly the first of their kind. With America’s Team right down the road, it was only fitting to become THE Official Casino of the Dallas Cowboys. Next, we announced a partnership with compLexity Gaming, becoming the Exclusive Casino of compLexity Gaming. More exciting details on this partnership are headed your way soon, so be on the lookout!
World-Class Concerts
Throughout the year we saw thousands of fans join us at the Global Event Center for shows from some of the hottest artists in entertainment, including Kings of Leon, Christina Aguilera, Alabama, Jerry Seinfeld and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Our 2019 lineup gets even bigger, with appearances from Midland, Gary Allan, Earth, Wind & Fire, Pitbull and more!
World Long Drive
For the third consecutive year, we had to opportunity to host the Volvik World Long Drive Championship at the WinStar Golf Club. And for the third year in a row, new champions were crowned in all three divisions. Eddie Fernandes earned top honors in the Masters Division, while Phillis Meti picked up her third career Women’s Division title and Maurice Allen blasted a 393-yard on his final ball of the championship round to take home his first Open Division championship belt.
Introducing Craps and Roulette
We welcomed two new gaming experiences in 2018 with the introduction of classic casino games Craps and Roulette. Added to our already-extensive selection of more than 100 table games, you can find these two icons at multiple locations across the casino.
RIO Gaming Plaza Opens
RIO is the newest exciting city at WinStar! Featuring more than 500 electronic games, bar and dedicated player’s club desk, this non-smoking area was designed specifically with our dedicated patrons in mind.
Poker Room Updated
With 55 tables across 12,000 square feet, our newly-updated poker room is officially the biggest in Oklahoma. We now offer table-side food and drink service so you don’t have to leave your chair and daily poker tournaments are sure to keep the action rolling!
Oklahoma’s Largest Workplace Blood Donor
We take our community initiatives seriously, and one that’s near and dear to our hearts is our partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute. We had the privilege of hosting four blood drives this year. These drives raised more than 1,000 units of blood, which translates to more than 3,600 lives saved this year.
New General Manager Introduced
Jack Parkinson joined us as our new general manager after serving in the same role at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK. Jack oversees the strategic direction and growth of WinStar to ensure the best possible experience for both our employees and guests.
WinStar’s Website Updated
One of our biggest upgrades in 2018 was a brand-new website, WinStar.com! New features were added to improve the overall user experience, including simplified navigation, a new My WinStar portal and even a game finder.
