Imagine this: you’re sitting down to a candlelit dinner for two in a fine Italian restaurant. You’re sipping on Sauvignon Blanc and eating a delectable Calamari Fritti. For a moment, you may forget that you aren’t in Italy, but in Oklahoma instead. Thanks to our Capisce Ristorante Italiano, you’ll feel is if you’ve been transported to Rome simply by walking through the door. That’s quite a feat considering we are over 5,000 miles away! I had the pleasure of sitting down with Scott Head, manager of Capisce, and he gave me the inside scoop on this charming restaurant.
The first thing I had to ask was about their pasta. As some of you may know, they make the majority of their pasta in house (it doesn’t get better than homemade pasta, right?). With that being said, they still order 300 pounds of pasta per month! This statistic has even greater significance when you realize that the restaurant is only open Thursday through Sunday.
If you’ve never been to Capisce before, it may be hard to choose from the overwhelming amount of appetizing menu items. While you can’t go wrong, I can offer a couple of suggestions. The most popular item is the Chicken and Mushroom Lasagna. It’s a hearty, creamy helping of tastiness that is definitely worth trying. Other must-haves are the Scallops Rockefeller and Osso Buco, which is a veal-based dish. Of course, your dining experience won’t be complete without dessert. There’s an impressive list of sweets that include a Pecan Tart and Pumpkin Pie. A personal favorite of mine is without a doubt their chocolate raspberry cake—yummy!
Capisce offers a unique dining experience for many reasons. It is the only place in the casino where guests can enjoy fine wines and daily fish specials, which has proven to be a huge hit. Another exclusive feature of this restaurant is a working fireplace that adds to the cozy, romantic atmosphere. Your visit is also made special by the dedicated, attentive staff. “This is a really warm place to work,” Head gushes. “The staff truly looks to make people happy.” As if it can’t get any better, the food is crafted by award-winning chefs.
By now you’re thinking you have to come try this place out, and you’re right—you have to! Whether you’re planning a romantic date or a fun evening with friends, this is certainly the spot to be.
