More than 40 years after his untimely death, the world still recognizes the brilliance of Jimi Hendrix. And while the tunes still play on, captured on CDs and broadcast over radiowaves, the real essence of the Jimi Hendrix Experience was in the live performance.
Even though Jimi himself has gone on to Rock n’ Roll Heaven, the music is alive — and live for you — as the Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour 2012 rolls in to the WinStar World Casino. Thrill to the songs you love performed by world-class musicians from some of America’s biggest bands.
Artists taking part in the Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour include Billy Cox, sole surviving member of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, along with Jonny Lang, Robby Krieger of the Doors, Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, Bootsy Collins and more.
“The line-up for this tour reflects the breadth of Jimi’s ongoing influence that reaches down through the generations,” said producer John McDermott. “The Experience Hendrix tour is all about musical camaraderie and the recognition that Jimi Hendrix, undeniably, casts the longest shadow in the realm of great music and great musicians.”
The Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour 2012 comes to the WinStar World Casino at 8 p.m. Friday, March 23. Reserved tickets are $50 with VIP seats going for only $70. If you want to see hundreds of years of rock history perform a tribute to one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
