As you may have heard, we are about to open the doors to the brand-new WinStar Convention Center! This new structure is a huge addition to WinStar World Casino and Resort. The convention center officially opens Sept. 9, so you may be a little curious about our biggest project of 2016.
Morgan Ambrose is the Senior Sales Manager at the WinStar Convention Center. She’s been with the team since 2011 and has worked everywhere on the resort from the WinStar Golf Course and Academy to the WinStar Hotel, and has even worked with dining and retail operations. Recently, she made the switch to the convention center team, and she couldn’t be more excited to take on this new project.
“Visitors to the WinStar Convention Center can expect our experienced professionals to take care of all of their meeting and planning needs in a one-stop shop,” says Ambrose.
The 65,000-square-foot event space connects to the casino between the London Gaming Plaza and the casino hotel. Fun fact: the massive convention center contains approximately 1,240 cubic yards of concrete and 388 tons of steel.
Ambrose says the state-of-the-art space can accommodate any and all events. “From corporate outings, to conferences, to expos, banquets, weddings, trade shows, training seminars, corporate retreats and social getaways. You name it, we can execute it!”
She means it, too. The 12,500-square-foot catering kitchen is outfitted with up-to-date equipment, capable of preparing up to 2,000 plated offerings.
Check out some of the rooms and amenities:
Grand Pre-Function Space
This space features 33-foot ceilings, complete with three beautiful 30-foot chandeliers. The Grand Pre-Function space has a video board, made up of three 90-inch monitors and four 42-inch monitors that have full video and audio capabilities.
Grand Ballroom
The 15,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom has banquet occupancy of 1,000 guests and can be divided into seven separate rooms, meaning you can host an event as large (or as small) as you like.
Junior Ballroom
The Junior Ballroom is approximately 6,400 square feet, with banquet occupancy of 430 guests. The space can be divided into four separate rooms.
Executive Boardrooms
Three Executive Boardrooms can combine to occupy 45 people. Ninety-inch monitors give users state-of-the-art video and audio capabilities, to meet the needs of any meeting.
That’s not all. Ambrose says the WinStar Convention Center’s high-tech systems will keep them ahead of the game. The building is outfitted with technology to keep operations running smoothly. One of our favorites? A video delivery system that provides digital meeting room schedules and content on all of the LCDs throughout the pre-function, ballroom and meeting room spaces to help keep meeting attendees in-the-know and on-task.
But according to Ambrose, the fancy features of the WinStar Convention Center aren’t what make it so special. “My favorite part of the Convention Center is the staff. It truly takes a lot of employees working toward one goal to make each and every event successful. Their dedication and hard work is sure to create an experience for our guests that is unlike any other.”
