“Somebody’s Crying,” but it won’t be you.

Nine extraordinary albums. Twelve singles. Twice Grammy-nominated. Several movie appearances and hit soundtracks. Even his hair has its own fan club. It’s all that and more when Chris Isaak hits the stage at WinStar World Casino and Resort’s Global Event Center on August 23 at 8:00 PM.

Chris Isaak’s many different musical personas are captured throughout his expansive career: the rockabilly rebel (“Dancin’,” “Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing,” “Speak Of The Devil”), the brokenhearted crooner (“Wicked Game,” “Somebody’s Crying”) and the acoustic storyteller (“San Francisco Days,” “Two Hearts”). And his greatest hits record contains his stirring tribute to his musical hero, with Roy Orbison’s classic ballad “Only The Lonely.”

But he probably achieved superstar status when director David Lynch used “Wicked Game,” a ballad from Isaak’s third album, in the film Wild At Heart. The song went Top Ten in 1991, and the video, featuring Isaak rolling on the beach with Helena Christensen, was an MTV staple. Then there’s the bluesy rocker “Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing,” which can be heard in Stanley Kubrick’s film Eyes Wide Shut, while Nicole Kidman performs her famous strip-tease.

So, to what does Isaak attribute the longevity of his career? “You know, I’ve never tried to jump on a trend, and I’ve never had to jump off of one. I try to do what feels right for each song. I never have to go, ‘Well, no more disco for me.’” So, it’s no disco, all Isaak, only at WinStar’s Global Event Center Friday, August 23.
