50th Anniversary Tour.
Get your slice of “Mountain Music” from America’s favorite sons! Alabama plays WinStar’s Global Event Center on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 9:00 PM.
For more than 50 years Alabama has been changing the game for southern rock and country – blending the two together in a sound uniquely their own. Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook started playing bars in South Carolina in the 1970s, but they got their big break in 1980 with their first Top 20 hit “My Home’s In Alabama.” Now, 50 years later, they’ve sold more than 80 million albums, had 43 No. 1 singles and won over 178 different awards including CMAs and Grammys. But that time spent in the industry doesn’t mean they don’t keep making new fans.
“I was in Nashville,” said Teddy Gentry, “walking by this club full of young people – I’m talking 18 or 20. The band started playing ‘Dixieland Delight’ and everybody in the place started singing and sang all the way through. I had to smile at the longevity of the songs. Half the crowd at our shows is young people, under 25 years old. So, I think that’s a tribute to the fact that we spent a career putting out good songs that stand the test of time.”
Head down to the Global Event Center to hear big hits like “Dixieland Delight,” “Song of the South,” “Mountain Music” and “I’m in a Hurry” from the boys in Alabama.
Doors to this event open at 7:30 PM for the 9:00 PM showtime.
